One of the most overlooked prophetic events that Jesus Christ shared with His disciples (and with us today), when asked what would be the signs of His coming and of the end of the world, is the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by the Prophet Daniel (Matthew 24:15).

The Abomination of Desolation may be a mystery to many and there is much speculation surrounding it. But Jesus was simply referring to a system of salvation that would be set up which is contrary and in opposition to His ONLY way of salvation, i.e. by God’s grace through faith in His Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). That prophecy is being fulfilled right before our very eyes; and most of the world, including the majority of Christendom, is totally oblivious to this phenomenon of apocalyptic proportions.

Not only does Daniel clearly identify the power that would seek to establish such a system (Daniel 8:9-13); but the Apostle Paul gives us further clarification. He admonishes us,  “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). That system is none other than the Roman Papacy.

Here is the undeniable proof: Pope Francis, in addressing a gathering of more than 33,000 at the Vatican on Wednesday, 25 June 2014, declared, “…There are those who believe they can maintain a personal, direct and immediate relationship with Jesus Christ outside the communion and the mediation of the Church. These are dangerous and harmful temptations… Dear friends, let us ask the Lord, through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, for the grace never to fall into the temptation of thinking we can make it without the others, that we can get along without the Church, that we can save ourselves on our own, of being Christians from the laboratory…”   This declaration of the pope should have awaken the sleeping saints to Francis’ and his church’s real objective—-replacing God’s way of salvation with one of their concoction.  It was this very policy that led to its slaughter to tens of millions of innocent Christians during the Dark Ages.  http://bit.ly/1bYuVWB

Central to that false system of salvation is Sunday sacredness which Francis and his church claim as their mark of authority in religious matters.  They  boast, “Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed to Sunday…not from any directions noted in Scriptures, but from the church’s sense of its own power…People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become Seventh-day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy” (Saint Catherine Catholic Church Sentinel, May 21, 1995). “Sunday is our mark of authority. The church is above the Bible, and the transference of Sabbath is proof of that fact” (Catholic Record, Sept 1, 1923).

This is not only contrary to God’s 7th day Sabbath which is so clearly revealed in His word; but is in direct opposition to His person and will. God declared, “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.(Exodus 20:8-11).

As the world-wide call goes out from the Papacy to honor and forcibly institute Sunday sacredness; the God of Creation is lovingly appealing to all humanity to worship Him by honoring His blessed Sabbath day. John the Revelator writes,  “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters” (Revelation 14:6-7).

Francis has not only continued the ongoing universal call for Sunday sacredness; but he has captivated the entire world as he diligently seeks to unite all humanity under the rulership of the Papacy. As a Jesuit priest, he no doubt subscribes to the overarching objective of his order which is to return all ‘heretics’ (protestants/separated brethren) back to the fold of the mother church. A cursory look at his movements since replacing Benedict, in a rather surprising and unusual course of events, bespeaks his success of bringing the ‘heretics’ back home.

  • January 21, 2014-Francis appealed for Christian unity to a group of leading influential Evangelical leaders. He declared to them that, “We are all Catholics now”. The response to his appeal was heralded as a positive step in the right direction by almost all of Christendom.
  • March 13, 2014-The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Republican John Boehner, extended an invitation for Francis to address a full session of the United States Congress. Democrat Nancy Pelosi, a former Speaker of the House, fully supported Boehner indicating that she has been inspired by the pope’s message of ‘peace, compassion, and brotherhood’. Francis of course accepted the historical invitation and will address the nation on September 24, 2015. During his visit, he is also scheduled to address the United Nations and the World meeting of Families in Philadelphia, PA. One can hardly imagine the stomach-churning amazement of the Founding Fathers who established this nation as a bulwark against Papal incursion.
  • March 27, 2014-Pope Francis meets with President Barak Obama at the Vatican. The two discussed the need for solidarity in solving the world’s problems and committed to working together in that regard.
  • May 9, 2014-Francis advises the United Nations on solving the world’s economic problems. His solution: ‘the legitimate redistribution of economic benefits by the state, as well as in indispensable cooperation between the private sector and civil society’. Influential columnist, John Moody, wrote about this event, saying, “Francis…became what amounts to a robe-wearing politician”.
  • June 1, 2014-The Pope attends gathering of 53, 000 Charismatics meeting in Rome for the 37th National Convention for the renewal of the Spirit Conference. This was a historical first for a pope.
  • June 5, 2014-A 15 person delegation, including mega church pastor, Joel Osteen and members of the Mormon Church, met with the pope to discuss the question: ‘Can we find common ground to advance the ministry of Jesus so more people can experience the joy of Christian faith?’ Joel Osteen commented on the meeting, “ I felt very honored and very humbled…I like the fact that this pope is trying to make the church larger,, not smaller… he is not pushing people out, but  making the church more inclusive. That resonated with me”.
  • October 25, 2014-Jerry White, U.S. Deputy Assistant secretary of State, called for a “global covenant of religions” with the pope at the head. This came on the heels of Israeli president, Shimon Perez calling for a United Religions organization, in the likeness of the United Nations, suggesting the pope as the head, being a central figure for world peace.

Additionally, the pope travelled to the Holy land visiting holy sites of Jews, Christians and Muslims. He subsequently invited the presidents of Israel and Palestine to the Vatican where they were joined by Christians, Jewish, and Islamic religious leaders to pray for peace.

Following a meeting with several U.S. Televangelists, responding to his call for Christian unity, Francis established a Council to promote Global Christian Unity. Leading American pastor Rick Warren, after his meeting with the Pope, declared that ‘Catholics and Protestants are on the same page’.

The position of Rick Warren & Co., relative to Francis and his church, is so far removed from reality that one can only conclude that they are suffering from a severe case of Biblical and historical amnesia. Thomas Maley Harris, member of the military commission which tried and convicted the Lincoln assassin conspirators, presents the real picture in his classic, Rome’s Responsibility for the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

He wrote, “ It is, in fact, only a compact, well-organized, and powerful political machine, wielded in the interest of the greatest despotism that has ever cursed the earth. “If any man have not the spirit of Christ he is none of His;” and if this organization has not the spirit of Christ, it is not a church of Christ. That it is not animated by the Christ spirit is clearly manifest. It has never manifested the spirit of Christ in all of its past history, and so is not a Christian church at all; and as it has always been grasping after temporal power, and civil domination, and is now, as it always has been, laboring for civil supremacy all over the world, we are surely warranted in calling it a huge and dangerous political machine, that has stolen the livery of heaven to enable it the more effectually to serve the Devil; and the more easily to deceive and enslave mankind. But are our institutions in danger from this foe? Have we any cause for alarm? Is it necessary that we should sound the trumpet throughout the length and breadth of our land, and muster the hosts of freedom for the conflict? Yes, my fellow countrymen; there is cause for alarm, there is real danger in the immediate situation”. Mr. Harris is more right today than he was more than 100 years ago.

Clearly, the Roman church, with Francis at its helm, believes that the solution to the world’s economic, political, moral, and religious problems rests with her. The universal call for Sunday sacredness, Francis’s church professed mark of authority in religious matters, is being presented to the masses as a time of rest from the stresses and bustle of everyday life. The Associated Press recently reported, “Pope Francis lamented the abandoning of the traditionally Christian practice of not working on Sundays, saying it has a negative impact on families and friendships…He says that spending Sundays with family and friends is an ‘ethical choice’ for faithful and non-faithful alike.” He later added, “Preserving the special character of Sunday as the Lord’s Day — even civilly where possible.” This will undoubtedly be his appeal to the various audiences he will address during his visit to the United States during the month of September.

However, the ultimate objective of the prime mover behind the Sunday movement, the Church of Rome, is more dogmatic. We read these revealing words, “When, through the centuries, she has made laws concerning Sunday rest, the Church has had in mind above all the work of servants and workers, certainly not because  this  work  was  any  less  worthy when compared to the spiritual requirements of Sunday observance, but rather because it needed greater regulation to lighten its burden and thus enable everyone to keep the Lord’s Day holy. In this matter, my predecessor Pope Leo XIII in his Encyclical  Rerum  Novarum  spoke  of  Sunday  rest  as  a  worker’s right which the State must guarantee (Dies Domini, Section 66). In plain language, Rome is using the argument of rest to camouflage her real purpose of forcibly instituting Sunday sacredness, her professed mark of authority, in the place of God’s Holy Sabbath-day.

But the God of Creation has already given us a day of rest.  Moses informs us, “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made (Genesis 2:1-3).

We do not need Rome’s counterfeit. Besides, God does not force us to keep His Holy Sabbath; He lovingly beckons us to honor the special gift He has given to all humanity. Certainly, the call for Sunday rest, as it is promoted to the public, is not so much about rest, but rather for the sacredness of Sunday, in blatant opposition to God’s seventh-day holy Sabbath. The establishment of universal Sunday sacredness is inevitable, for the Bible predicts it. This sampling of efforts to impose Sunday sacredness from around the world is but the prelude of what prophecy foretells will come to pass (Revelation 13:15-17).

In times of tragedy and catastrophe, when there seems to be no other way out, men seek the help of God. September 11th, 2001 was one such occasion of national and international scope. Church attendance skyrocketed as people sought the help of God for understanding and finding solace from the unimaginable. To many, this meant going to church on Sunday. No one knows when the next catastrophe will occur. Whether it be another terrorist attack, worldwide financial meltdown, some uncontrollable disease, natural disaster, or any combination thereof, one thing is for sure is that men will seek the help of God.

In such a time, the call for Sunday sacredness will fall on welcoming ears. For those that choose to draw closer to the God of Creation by honoring His blessed Sabbath day, severe penalties, even death, will be meted out. John the Revelator foretells the event (Rev 13:15-18; 12:17; 17:13-14). What will your choice be? We are on the precipice of a stupendous crisis of unimaginable scope and character, the final movements of which will be rapid ones.

I invite you to join me in warning the world and helping them make the right decision for Jesus. Please join the movement to share God’s Sabbath Truth.
